This course is suitable for physiotherapists, sport therapists, sports massage therapists, osteopaths, chiropractors, occupational therapists and lymphoedema therapists. Third/Final year students in these fields are also welcome.

Course Overview - 2 Day Course - 8 hours per day

DAY 1 - Introduction to the Kinesio Taping Method®

The instructor discusses the fundamental concepts and the unique properties of Kinesio Tape. This is followed by a workshop where attendees can practice screening, muscle testing and muscle applications for both upper and lower body. Upon completion of KT1, attendees will be able to discuss and apply the Kinesio Taping Method® to relax overused muscles, stimulate weak muscles, and decrease pain and swelling.

DAY 2 - Introduction to advanced applications using the Kinesio Taping Method®.

Building on material covered in KT1, the instructor will introduce the six Corrective Techniques: Mechanical; Functional; Space; Fascia; Ligament/Tendon; and Lymphatic) and discuss their application in a variety of clinical conditions. This includes Kinesio Taping for orthopaedic and neurological conditions.

Attendees must take courses in order (KT1 &KT2 before KT3)
ONLY KTA-APPROVED courses are considered for obtaining accreditation as a Certified Kinesio Taping® Practitioner (CKTP). This is achieved after completion of KT3.

Jason Graham

Jason is a graduate of the London School of Sports Massage, qualified as a Remedial and Clinical Sports Massage Therapist. He runs his own clinic, Berkshire Kinesio, in Windsor.

Jason Graham is a Physical therapist and founder of The Flying Physios- a team of therapists providing Pop up clinics at a number of events and on location for the film & television industry.

Previously a national tennis player, squad coach and more recently a travelling squad therapist, Jason has worked with national and international junior tennis players at Bisham Abbeys Centre of Excellence, Eton College and The LTA. More recently Jason has also worked with Boots pharmacies, The Ministry of Defence, Wellington Hospital and The Princess Grace Hospital as a remedial therapist as well as heading up small teams of therapists through the Back in the Office initiative, spearheading the everyday use of Kinesio Taping in the workplace.

KT1 FUNDAMENTALS OF Kinesio Taping® (Total hours: 8)

Introduction to Kinesio Taping® Concepts (2 hrs)
  • History of Kinesio Taping technique.
  • Introduction to Kinesio Taping® Concepts (2 hrs)
  • Benefits and limitations of Kinesio Taping.
  • Physical characteristics and qualities of Kinesio-Tex Tape.
  • Application of tape to learn proper 'feel' and how to remove tape from backing.
  • Examine difference between longitudinal and cross-wise stretching of the tape.
  • Stretch properties of Kinesio Tape.
  • Basic application techniques of how tape is cut and applied, preparation of body part to be taped and maintenance of tape once it is applied.
