Kinesio 30th Symposium
By Kate Slater | 20 November 2015

Kinesio UK marked its 30th Anniversary Symposium on 21st to 23rd November 2015 in Tokyo, Japan.

Dr Kenzo Kase, founder of Kinesio, was born in Tokyo and the event will be a fitting global celebration of 30 years of Kinesio healing and research. There is no doubt that Kinesio Taping has taken the physiotherapy and rehabilitation world by storm with hundreds of international sports stars such as footballer Gareth Bale and tennis player Novak Djokovic amongst its fans.

The Managing Director of Kinesio UK, Kevin Anderson, is travelling to Tokyo to attend the 30th Annual Symposium and is looking forward to meeting global Kinesio experts and exchanging news and research on the development of this effective universal modality.

Kevin says: "The Annual Kinesio Symposium is always a fascinating event with interesting workshops, amazing keynote speakers and new research presentations. Every year I learn something new about the ability of Kinesio to help people and I am sure this year will be no different. I'm looking forward to catching up with Kinesio Practitioners and medical specialists from all over the world and discussing new research and the latest applications."

This year the events at the Annual Kinesio Symposium include a presentation by Sabrina and Gudrun Collins (both Kinesio UK KTAI Instructors) on "Lymphatic Application in Kinesio Taping".

Professor Hans-Michael Kelin will deliver a keynote speech on "Kinesio Taping for Post-Operative Pain and Wound Management in Cardiac Surgery".

There will also be a presentation of "Kinesio Taping for Low Back and Pelvic Girdle Pain" by Thuy Bridges. Patricia Martin and Audrey Yasukawa will present "The Use of Kinesio for the Paediatric Population".

Tomoki Okane will discuss and present "Physical Force and Power in Kinesio Taping". Michela Colombo and Sara Peloni will present "The Effect of Kinesio Taping in Hemiplegic Patients with Cerebral Palsy"

This is just a very small sample of the huge variety of events and presentations taking place over the three-day event and demonstrates just how far the product has developed over the last 30 years.
